After my complaints to HP-support they did change the driver - and that means, that the performs almost without problems in Mac. They did promise to fix the last minor problem.

So I must regret my review.
It is still expensive in use, but now it i working fine!

The toner cartridge is not expensive if you buy from Compatible product. CE278A toner cartridge is a new toner model for HP P1606 and P1566.
