"This printer and the support is really horrid." on by rickw51
Pros: It prints horridly but does so fast
Cons: Very noisy, support is horrible, does not handle thick media well
Summary: I've only had this printer 6 days and am considering putting it out with the garbage. I tried printing on the recommended photo paper and it puts black lines down the back of the paper. It also does not accept card stock very well. Lexmark support (misnomer) first said that it was a defective black cartridge then later said that the printer does not accept the type of paper I was using. Either way I'm dumping this sucker and going back to the HP. I'd advise anyone who wants to use other than just regular bond paper to not waster their money on this printer. Unfortunately I bought it at CompUSA brand new but can not return it because they're going out of business. An expensive lesson but I did learn. Bottom line, this printer is a hunk of junk!!!

"Worse machine ever!" on by kaycamp6535
Pros: Absolutely none!
Cons: Cheaply made; breaks every time it is used whether it is for copying, printing or faxing. Continuous problems with print head, document feeder, alignment. I've spent more time fixing this machine than being able to use it!
Summary: The adage, "You get what you pay for," has never been truer! This was a very cheap product and it is worth even less -- DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!

"Bad Printer Don't buy Lexmark" on by philip.bankhead

"Support defies laser" on by Ingysan
Pros: Long lasting, fast and quality prints
Cons: In typical Lexmark fasion, they make a laser printer that outlives its support. Never buy a laser from Lexmark!
Summary: I finally bought a laser printer as ink-jets are more expensive to refill than to buy. As well, they are slow to print and the ink often dries up. Laser printers are designed for long life which belies their initial cost. But in their wisdom, Lexmark does not provide Windows 7 drivers for many older modles (my C500n is 2 years old). So why buy a laser from Lexmark? DON'T. If you update your Windows version and Lexmark stops caring about their customers just because they did not buy a new Laser (d'uh, that's why I bought a laser). I now have a book end that weight 30 lbs and cost over $500 that does not work with my version of windows and their customer support say "get a newer model".
Thanks, but if you waste your money on a lexmark, expect it to be unsupported in a couple years. Only buy cheap, throw away stuff from this low brow company.
HP and Zerox however have provided Windows 7 drivers for all their older model lasers. Lexmark could learn from that unfamiliar concept of CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
