"Flimsy. Horrid software." on by basketcase12
Pros: Print quality is good. Speed is good.
Cons: Flimsy. Software is a nightmare. Trying to get the manual tray to work as it was supposed to, and to link the manual tray with the 250-page tray was bizarre.
Summary: I sent this back, primarily because of the software. I could I not get the manual tray to work when the software said it should. When I finally got it linked (following the procedure in the manual to make the machine pull from the manual tray until empty and then go to the regular 250-page tray), I turned it off and on again, and this feature stopped working. The machine seems cheap, the software also crashed my computer a couple times (system retore, reinstall software, and another software nightmare). I exchanged it for a Brother HL-6050D, which is more heavy duty and holds more paper, and doesn't have a software problem.

"It's great if you only use the internal tray." on by J_Taylor
Pros: Fast print speed, low initial cost.
Cons: Manual feed slot is all but unusable
Summary: The manual feed slot (calling it a tray would be a lie) is either a sick joke, or just horrible design. The dollar slots on vending machines work better than the one on this line of printers. You have to hold the sheet or envelope in place until it the printer pulls it in to print on it. Even a cheap injet has better paper handling than this.
Also, the construction is extremely flimsy.
