"Pricey, but you get what you pay for, sometimes!!!"4.5 starson by JohnBillyBob
Pros: Clear, crisp text, color photos and strong dependability
Cons: Finicky with color photos; Most need manual color adjustment
Summary: We bought this (actually, the C5800, which is capable of duplex printing) to do color brochures on 32 pound glossy paper. To date, it has paid for itself. Bought at Office Depot, who were very helpful. The price was high and the "$150 rebate" still has not come (9 months now!), but it is literally click and print. Had to work with digital color photos some to get the nack for adjusting brightness, etc, to get the best brochure outcome. I chose NOT to attempt what seems to be a complex series of "color swatches", using another piece os software to set up photos to print at the right color intensity.
Cartridges are also pricey, but aren't all color lasers?
All in all, I'd rate the machine at a 9.5+ for doing what it is designed to do.
Excellent choice for the "long haul."
