"Had two, both get two stars." on by Eric78DX
Pros: Cost of the machine is perfect. I bought my first one for around $90 from Tiger Direct and the second one for about the same cost at OfficeMax.
Cons: The first one stopped recognizing new toner cartridges and wouldn't print. The second one is a little off with the line-up of the printing. Samsung doesn't have a solution to either problem. Great phones, tvs and other electronics but printers? Nope.
Summary: The first one I had stopped recognizing new cartridges after about a year. The orange light stayed lit. I turned it off and on, unplugged and plugged back in to "Reset" the machine. No go. I even cleaned out the little toner dust bin. Still nothing. I had new cartridges for the machine and wanted to find it out there again. I thought I get a dud.
The second one I found was brand new. Out of the box it worked great. After I set it up and printed a few sheets I thought it had to warm up or get "broken" in, but the reds comes out with an orange tint and the line-up of the colors on the paper are off. If I print an image you can tell where the red an blue overlap.
Basically, you get what you pay for. $90 color laser is going to give you a printer that prints, but it may stop working, stop recognizing new toners or print in a way that isn't exactly lined up.
I recommend buying a color laser with 4 stars or higher and pay the extra bucks to get a nice printer that you won't have to replace twice in a four years.
