  • "Well worth the money!"
    on by cindyellis1

Pros Have had one for 3 years now. Truly like the performance. Just on draft, the quality of print is great. Great machine!

Cons Our first one had a problem during its warranty period and was successfully exchanged for our current one.
Only quirk is the toner indicator lights usually flash, but the tech people said to ignore them.

Summary Would purchase one again. Looking for one for our daughter.

  • "Very bad build quality. Waste of money"
    on by michaelvn

Pros It does print (even though very crappy quality). Easy to set up.

Cons Crappy build quality, especially that of the paper tray. Bad color printing quality.

Summary I own many Samsung products, & so far quite happy with them. But when I bought this printer, I realized that just because it's a Samsung, doesn't mean it'll be good. In fact it's rubbish compared to a Brother printer. The build quality is shocking bad, especially that of the paper tray. My advise is before you buy, definitely give it a careful inspection at your local store. Don't buy because it's from a well-known name & its price.

  • "MTBF less than 3 months & Samsung on-line support poor."
    on by yon_john

Pros looks good & when you manage to get it printing, print quality is good

Cons cheap, noisy, slow, constant headaches re operation, poor onine support, and now... it won't turn on! From my experience; MTBF (hard failure) is less than 3 months.

Summary worked as expected (encountered most, if not all, of the previously documented problem) for about 3 months then... it wouldn't turn on. I have checked power including using another (proven) power cord - power is arriving at printer. Printer does not respond to power switch. Any suggestions?
I tried Samsung online help - found it to be pretty much useless. Tried to use the online chat support but simply received messages indicating that it was unavailable. I have a Galaxy tab and sure hope that I don't run into problems with it. This experience certainly has me holding off on buying a Galaxy phone.

  • "Having problem with connecting via WEP. WPS saves it!"
    on by pogisitony

Pros I can print from my Android tablet using the Samsung MobilePrint app. I have it on for 2 days now and my WIFI connection never got lost. I'm printing from my bedroom upstair and it print like I'm connected with USB wire. Very happy.

Cons Very hard to setup through Infrastructure mode where you have to enter your security code. I spent 3 hours doing this and I know I'm following all the direction correctly and my passcode is correct.

Summary Very good printer once you get connected. Can be frustrating to set-up. I can understand why it got low rating - I almost did rate it at one star. However, once I resolved all the problems, the printer is a good investment for the price I paid. The Samsung MobilePrint app is great. Get it from Android market - it's free and works only for Samsung printers.
