"This Printer is a Toner Selling Scam"
Pros: Auto-Duplexing kind of cool
Cons: Toner is completely chip dependant - quits prnting when it decides you need more toner
Summary: This printer is a pure scam to sell over-priced toner and I was sucked in. The actual level of toner has absolutely nothing to do with when it stops printing. Imagine my surprise when I printed a few thousand postcards that had ONE WORD in red and one word in blue and one yellow highlight that completely burned out ALL of my toner cartridges. They are still almost completely full yet the ?smart chip? in them will not let them continue to print.
This printer is a scam ? don't buy it. In the end it will cost you a fortune in toner or wind up in a closet after a couple of weeks as ours has.

Each printer cartridge have their own "smart Chip" that counts the prints in each color. The problem is when the chip reaches its limit the toner cartridge tells the printer that it is empty even though it may still have some toner left in it. The printer cannot be used in any way until the empty toner is replaced. (Not even for black and white copies when the yellow cartridge is "out.") It gets very expensive to keep an entire set of toners around just to keep the printer working. It does seem like a scam when you cannot even turn this feature off.
