"DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!!" on by Ken Dove

Pros: None that are worth the downside

Cons: Designed to scam you on toner

Summary: This printer was designed with 'kill chips' in the toner cartridges that force you to replace all 3 toner cartridges when it thinks that one of them is empty. There is no sensor in the cartridge - it's based entirely upon a page count. I have this in writing from a Samsung engineer. I also have photographic proof that the printer reports toner cartridges as empty when they aren't even close. Samsung designed this printer to rip you off. Don't buy it - or any other Samsung product.

The toner chips are easily reset to a page count of zero. You can continue printing until the cartridges are really empty, then you can refill and print again.

So, why not buy replacement chips on line for $5.00 each?
