"Some problems, but can't beat the price." on

Pros: Easy to use, print quality is good for someone like me who doesn't need perfection that won't be noticed.

Cons: The initial starter toner cart started to print light copies at about 500 sheets, and after that that ink will rub off if you smudge it with your thumb, so be ready to get more toner sooner than you expect.

"I am not pleased with this printer" on by Allan J Greenberg

    Pros: Inexpensive.

    Cons: Jams frequently, wrinkles envelopes.

Summary: This printer often jams, is slow to print envelopes and wrinkles envelopes. Jams are difficult to remove. The printing is often light, especially with envelopes. It takes forever to print the address on an envelope. Sometimes the printer just refuses to print. When the printer does not jam, it does print fast.

"Great price and performance. a 10 Personal laser" on by moosikas

Pros: Fast, good fast prints and practically giving them away after rebates

Cons: ink in inkjet will dry up from disuse

Summary: I have been using inkjets for routine use. I have bought this samsung to try out a laser printer and boy what a steal. It blows my inkjet away that cost twice as much. I usually print word docs and miscellanous text, so although color would be nice I really enjoy the fast prints much better. If I need color I will use the inkjet. This is also very small, I have it atop my inkjet under my desk(kinda strange setup but it fits under there and no one really can see them there) and both are connected to my cpu. I was told that this printer will print 3,000 pages per cartridge and you can get 40% more with the toner saver feature. That's 4000 pages. This baby will last me all year at 10-15 pages day. I bought an additional cartridge with its rebate as the starter one is supposed to last only 1,000 pages. I no longer have to worry about getting new cartridges for my inkjet and some of which even dry out. I had bought several cartridges one time to avoid this hassle and the one i did not use did not last very long which I attribute to having the ink in the cartridge somehow dry out on me. THis relief is worth the cost of this printer. At less that $70 there really is hardly a cost. Not only that, pages fly out of the machine. I click print and when i reach down expecting the first page to come out, the whole printout is there- usually 2-4 pages. My inkjet was chugging the pages out and I wouldn't bother to reach down as only part of the page would be out. It says 17ppm but can it even be faster? I guess 4 pages in 10 seconds is about right but it seems much faster - maybe it was the toner saver feature or the text i am printing takes less time?? I love this printer already and will print away my many drafts and other docs I need. So maybe that cartridge will not last afterall. The salesman also said laser cartridges do not dry out like inkjet so that was also another reason why I had to try this out. Affordable laser printing is here!!!!! I think its much more efficient than inkjet although no color and less use recreationally. If you need to print text for routine use or drafting then I definitely think this will make you much more productive. Go laser!!!!!! Cannot wait for affordable color lasersss. Other bad reviews I do not understand. IT sets up in a flash- open box undid the tape, put the cartridge in, plugged the power cord in, turn off computer, plugged usb to cpu. turn on cpu, autoinstall w disc and that was it. It prints well and fast. No jams with 20lb xerox paper that works with laser. Thats more than good and its at rock bottom prices with rebate. I do not intend to use this machine for business so it might not be for offices that print 100s pages/day.

    "Absolute TORTURE!" on by liqdstar

Pros: Cheap, fast when it works

Cons: paper jams, difficult to remove jams, printing issues ALL THE TIME

Summary: I ABSOLUTELY hate this machine! It's the very worst investment i have ever made.

To start it's constantly jamming up!!! and the paper is so difficult to remove since the parts do not open up.

sometimes, i think just to torture me, it just refuses to print. I have to cajole it by opening and closing the drawer...the paper has to be placed just right or it won't print.

please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this horrible printer

    "Verdict still out" on

Pros: Price was a driving factor. Go this unit for $85 w/ rebates. I also needed something to last about a year until I get done with grad school. This replaces a HP 940c ( I have come to hate inkjets !!). I looked around quite abit before getting this unit.

Cons: I have owned this for about 2 weeks, and seem to have a driver problem, which hope product support can help with. I won't print out a demo sheet, and the manual is not getting me any help. Most appear to gripe about the noise. In my opinion it's not a
