"Amazing for the price" on by radixhound

Pros: Easy set up, Reasonable toner cost, Mac friendly, network + duplex

Cons: none so far after 4 months of use

Summary: I don't know what's wrong with the people submitting negative reviews up to now. One spewed gobledegook, it doesn't make any sense to me, another is bashing the printer for a flaw in their unit.. the other one bashes it for the toner price being higher than expected, and I really wonder if that person knows what they are talking about. I suspect he didn't account for the fact that the toner that comes with the unit isn't a full load.

    On to my review.

I have a small business and share office space with other entrepreneurs and I'm the techie, so I went looking for a good network printer to share. I spent hours and hours searching and comparing. Finally I found this one, took a hard look and decided it was 'the one perfect choice'

I picked up this printer for under $200. (!!) It's a quality laser printer with a huge duty cycle, networking and duplexing. I was shocked.

This printer was easy to install, it was done in minutes. Just plugged it into the router and configured it on our computers. It works flawlessly for us.

We used up the toner cartridge that came with the unit and the replacement was very reasonably priced and easy to find.

The best part is that I'm confident in Samsung customer support. I've dealt with them before for my LCD monitor and was blown away. Quite frankly I've never experienced service like that anywhere.

I give it a 10 because it meets our needs perfectly, the price doesn't compare with anything else, and we haven't had any problems with it yet. We're in our fourth month of use.

Summary: I love this printer because of the features for the price and I trust Samsung.

"Can't do the basics." on by cdseaman

    Pros: Great print quality.

Cons: Network printing if not done by samsung standards is impossible.

Summary: This printer was easy to set up in a direct connection go a PC (USB), but networking was complicated and non-functional. Samsung's drivers interrupt IP based requests and prevent these from issuing unless the PC can see the printer online. This prevents standard USB networking and caching by other network devices. In effect, the printer is useless as anything other than a directly connected device. Samsung support was abysmal - they do not support anything other than direct connections.
If you want this machine for more than direct connections, think again, unless you plan to wire it via ethernet. The wireless device is impossible to find.

"Bad compared to HP1022" on by sizcaray

    Pros: Lower toner cost

Cons: Slow, Toner does not last, Paper Jams and a lot other issues

Summary: I read all the opinions and did all the calculations of price per page, and came to the conclusion Samsung was the right one. Wrong!. The toner does not last as specified by the website, it is a lot slower than what it said and it gets paper jams all the time. My coworker has an HP 1022, and it is a lot faster does not occupy so much space and in terms of toner is about the same. So do not buy this one.. it not a good printer

"An excellent printer" on by RickTM

Pros: I've been using this for a year now and have been very pleased with the product: nice sharp print, easy wireless connection to two computers in the house, toner saver does help, and duplexing works perfectly.

Cons: Mac software needs work -- it works okay, but it is not up to Apple's higher standards.

Summary: I recommend this printer highly based on near daily use. Per page print costs are very low, especially when facotring in toner save mode for drafts and duplexing to cut down on paper costs.

"Paper Jams everyday!! Used in our school lab - bad buy!" on by jazzyb2

Pros: Price tag is attractive - beware it = cheap

Cons: Not heavy duty, the paper draw is very cheap and does not slide easily. A lab of 29 computers with one or two page print outs seems to cause paper jams and mis-feeds. We have had this less than a year. Looking to replace it with an HP.

Summary: Don't buy this printer for the price tag if you want multiple jobs and volume copies.
