Summary: Compared to a 2-year old Samsung I was using, the lower quality of this screen - in terms of build and onscreen image/colour - is readily apparent. But at the price you really can't complain: 2 years ago I bought the Samsung at twice the price of this Acer.
If all you want is to play games and watch DVDs, this is more than good enough. For more serious applications like Photoshop or video editing, you'll still need to spend double the price. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
