"A necessity in all areas of computer endeavor" on by 20dogpp
Pros: Ultra high definition in Photography view several pages at once
Cons: For ultra high tech you need some extra form of calibration
Summary: In Photography nice to have such large display to be able to view each pixel for that pro job. If you are dealing with several documents they all can be available on screen at once. Receives highest industry ratings. Another way to go is two 20" Apple Cinema displays.

"This review is from 2004 and is about the wrong display" on by jadsemail
Pros: The 2010 version of the 30" display is the finest video display available, period. Video (2560 x 1600 pixel resolution) & audio quality are off the chart. It connects to any computer with a VGA, DVI, or HDMI connection, & has built in USB & FW
Cons: It's a bit pricey, although the quality makes it worth it if you can afford it. Firewire connection is a FW400, not a FW800.
Summary: The viewing angle is amazing: practically 180 degrees (I think Apple says it's actually 178!).
How many 2560 x 1600 displays are there available, that have this level of audio and video quality, a built-in iSight camera and mike, and fantastic built-in sound? One. This one. -
"Excellent companion to a Mac Pro" on by Cliff3
Pros: - Display quality
- Resolution
- DesignCons: - Price
- FW400 hubSummary: I bought this as a companion to my Mac Pro. My 23" Apple display did not have as much resolution as I wanted. I was not able to find a used 23: ACD to complement the existing one at a price/condition I was comfortable with, so I opted instead to go with the 30" panel.
It is beautiful. It is a bit too expensive.
It would be nice if Apple freshened it to replace the Firewire 400 hub with a Firewire 800 hub. I prefer matte displays, so no trouble there. The display is also quite bright, so I keep the luminance turned way down. I am an amateur photographer and I calibrate the device with a colorimeter regularly. Color fidelity seems very good, and I am able to produce excellent prints from the photos I process on this monitor. -
"This says to me gaming, design, video at its best." on by JReefer

"Great monitor" on by james.stine
Pros: Great monitor
Cons: Weird on Mac Pro
Summary: Fantastic Monitor but weird connection on my Mac Pro to get output to the right resolution. My Mac Pro had two outputs and had to use the left one or didn't get the resolution needed. Wish this was in the manual, but Apple helped me resolve it. Other than that, love the monitor!
