Integrated web cam and speakersCons: Lack of DVI support
Summary: I'm not a fan of hardware that sports a half-dozen interfaces for every possible connection. I will choose one connector and stick with it for the life time of my computer and monitor. A suitable cord or adapter is fine. However, this monitor comes only with a mini-DisplayPort connector, and there is no adapter cords available for older Macs with DVI ports because the two are not compatible. Thus PowerMacs and other Apple computers more than a year or two old will not be compatible with this monitor.
However, I was impressed with the quality and clean looks of this monitor and so I went ahead and purchased an NVIDIA GeForce GT120 graphics card with Mini DisplayPort, so I could use it with my 2008 MacPro. I have not been disappointed. This monitor is superb. Mostly what I use it for is office work as well as graphics layout and photography work.
I agree that a matte finish option would be nice. At my work there are bright lights and the glare would be a problem from any glossy screen. At my home office though, the lighting is more subdued so this is not an issue.
The built-in web camera and speakers are good quality, but it is no match for good external speakers.
