    "Great Monitor" on by Mullouch

Pros: Fantastic Size, High Resolution, Multiple Inputs, Easy Jump In and Use 2ms Response

Cons: Price, NO HDTV Tuner, No Remote Control.

Summary: Considering the few monitors available that have the ability to display 1200p resolution, this monitor was an easy choice. Games and movies look great! It also has a 20,000 contrast ratio! No problems so far!

"Excellent general purpose large screen monitor" on by psyop15

Pros: Lots of connections, easy to configure, high resolution, good color and performance for everything but pro graphics work (what do you expect for ~300 bucks?)

Cons: bezel is bigger than I'd hoped; screen tilt/height adjustments are very inadequate

Summary: For the price, hard to beat. multiple inputs, good picture, good brightness, and good response; I use this monitor for everything, and it hasn't let me down once.

"A major step up from a 17? screen." on by namevac

Pros: No ghosting, plays online games without a hitch, I can see detail in things I couldn?t before, lots of real estate.

    Cons: Haven't found any yet

Summary: I spent a lot of time looking online and in stores for a quality monitor. I read more reviews on more monitors than I care to mention and basically it came down to this unit. I picked it because I play online games (Day of Defeat mostly) and wanted a high refresh rate, HDMI, and it has a higher horizontal resolution (1200) than others offered (1080).
I plugged it into my system, a 3 year old computer with a DVI outlet, and I was blown away by the responsiveness. The movies play great and the online gaming is superb. With a screen this size (25.5) I am now able to see more detail of the environment I'm playing in and have a new level of enjoyment.
I am waiting on a Radeon HD 5970 for a new system I'm building. When the new system is up I'll update this post with the HD performance.

"fails to turn on" on by creiss0

Pros: Nice large display. Crisp bright images. ability to adjust the display. Multiple video inputs.

Cons: The product sometimes does not turn on, usually after pressing reset on my XP SP2 PC with ATI 1800 card. I worked with ASUS to trouble shoot the problem by swapping cables, video ports and substituting a 2nd monitor that worked.

Summary: Nice monitor but unplug the cord when it locks up.
ASUS tech support said I needed to ship it back. ASUS returned it with no trouble found... in the mean time the loaner monitor (same model) also failed but I learned to recover by unplugging the power cord to reset the monitor.

"A comedically bad monitor" on by MV

    Pros: Price, size, resolution

Cons: Completely inappropriate for any, even slightly sensitive, color work. Next to a Samsung Syncmaster 245T, it's a toy.

Summary: It's hard to find monitors of this resolution these days, so I figured at half the normal price for such a monitor it was worth a try. For my needs, image editing and 3D rendering, it turned out it was a complete waste of time. I guess I should have known better but the fact is that I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined just how poor a monitor could be color wise. Everything except the sRGB setting has the most stunning blue cast I've ever seen in a monitor. Even the sRGB setting has a blue cast, but is as close to normal as you can get. Unfortunatly, the picture brightness is reduced by about half when set to sRGB. and cannot be adjusted higher. It's seems like the monitor specs are all a scam. The only way to get a semi normal looking color range is to turn down the Blue setting to zero, whereby the picture brightness is reduced dramatically. The technical specs of this monitor appear to all be a scam where the measurements for dynamic range etcetera rely on one keeping with the bright blue cast. Monitor brightness is also terribly uneven, with the huge swings in what area of the screen is brightest, depending on where you move your head.

If you need only resolution, and don't care about picture quality, brightness, or color rendition, then this may be a good monitor for you.
