"Great companion to Mac Mini"

Summary: As Mac Mini does not come with a monitor, and Apple's monitors are over $900, I was in market for an LCD that would utilize Mini's full capabilities. I eventually settled for Dell SX2210. I needed a webcam too but wasn't sure if SX2210's cam would be compatible. Once I hooked up the cables and turned everything on, the monitor was immediately recognized at 1980X1050, webcam and mic were functional. I was a seamless connection. Resolution was impressive and colos were vivid. I was also a little picky and wanted the monitor to match the aesthetics of the keyboard and the mini. The monitor has a nice blend of black, white, and silver.
Over a year using it with mac mini, and no complaints. Both Mic and Cam work. Highly recommended.
So if you're a mac user and need a monitor for your computer, this is the one you can buy.

Over 1 year out and still no complaints. Monitor is working with my mac mini. Webcam and mic both work. You obviously need to ensure that the USB cable is connected and that audio settings in Mac OS will show the device. Once you select the USB device for input, adjust the mic level to nearly max. As for the webcam, there are no specific settings. Hope this helps.

Hey i was wondering when we buy the dell SZ2210 does it need to be plug in to a CPU because i was watching lots of videos, but it didn't help me.

PS. I did not try iChat but the webcam worked perfect in Skype and Photobooth.

This review is correct! Got this monitor today and it was a seamless connection. Plugged in the DVI cable and the USB cable to my Mac mini. Webcam and mic are working perfect. Great screen that goes very well with the looks of the mac, for only €203. My mac mini is running Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.3).

Dont believe the post above. Its in all the dell reviews on this monitor and its fake. The monitor does NOT work with OS X

I'm afraid that I cannot believe that the webcam and mic worked with your mini. Please verify. Both Dell and Apple say that it doesn't, and mine certainly does not.

I have a 2.26 GZ mac mini running 10.6, and a new SX2210 monitor. It won't recognize the webcam or mic; appears incompatible. Can you share the secret of how to get it to recognize these? Many thanks!

Are you still happy with your Dell sx2210? I am looking @ the Mac Mini and also an lcd monitor of that size you have. I have problems with glossy screens so i was wondering if the one you have is glossy or matte? Let me know.
