Summary: I ordered both the 1905FP and the 1907FP and used nvidia to clone so that I could use them side by side and determine the differences. I used DVI cables for both on my 7800GT. I sent the 1905FP back after testing using web pages, movies, and games. The 1907FP is just as good as the 1905FP in quality. I know the 1907FP just a "6bit panel" according to many sites, and I looked really hard to tell the difference, but the quality is the same, both looked very bright and sharp. I guess human eyes cant really count beyond 260k colors, eh?
Anyway, the 1907FP won hands down mostly because in games it has almost no ghosting, while the 1905FP ghosts VERY VERY badly. I noticed the 1905FP ghosting especially badly when I saw it next to the 1907FP. The 1907FP simply blew the 1905FP away for games.
I am very particular when it comes to quality and when I ordered both at the same time, I counted on sending the 1907FP back based on all the reviews I read on the net. But I after about 3 hours of side by side testing, there was absolutely no question which LCD was better.

MINE WAS GREAT LIKE THIS ONE. NO PROBLEM WITH ANY VIEWS, CLEAR FROM ANY SIDE AND FAR FROM THE SIDE, BRIGHT AND COLORFUL. THEY MUST BE SELLING MORE THAN ONE INTERNAL DESIGN AND PARTS, BECAUSE SOME ARE REALLY GOOD AND OTHER PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS, IF YOU GET A GOOD ONE, KEEP IT! AND MINE COMES WITH A 3 YR WARRANTY STANDARD.

Dude, if you think the 1907FP looks as good as the 1905FP, well, let's just say I have some real estate I'd like to sell you. These two monitors are night and day. Dell tried to pull the wool over everyone's eyes by offering a low price point on the 1907FP. The problem is that the only way they could do this was by using a TN panel, which is an inferior panel technology to VA.

I own the 1905fp and have been VERY pleased with the performance... incredible clarity and viewing angle (170 degrees).<br><br>The 1905fp is no longer available, so I just ordered the 1907fp for another computer. My only worry is about the viewing angle... specs say it's 130-140 degrees at best!! Since you have both the 1905fp and 1907fp side-by-side, how do the viewing angles compare? Thanks in advance for your help

An earlier comment was that the viewing angle is terrible - get "off" by a few degrees and the picture degrades. Did you find that to be a problem?
