• "Great monitor for graphic programs, and works as an HDTV"
    4.5 stars
    on by akirakurosawa

Pros: Great screen real estate, sleek look, works as an HDTV

Cons: Monitor sags to the right a little bit.

Summary: I waited for this monitor to go on sale, and finally picked one up for $1066 after tax and shipping. When I opened the box it had both analog and DVI connectors. Plugged in the DVI cable and my computer launched as though nothing had changed (I was worried about driver issues popping up). I readjusted my resolution and had nearly twice my usual 1024x768. I downloaded a dead pixel tester, and all of the pixels were good. I then opened up Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere and readjusted my toolbar positions. WOW, major difference in work space. The next test was testing the component inputs.

I could not tell from searching the internet if I would be able to use this as an HDTV, but let me assure you it is possible, as I watched HDTV last night on this monitor. I went to Comcast and asked for one of their HD receivers, and they gave me one, complete with the HD composite cables. I got home, plugged them into this monitor and I was watching SD (standard def) cable. I switched to an HD station and low and behold I was watching HDTV on my new monitor. I had to change one setting (I do not remember what it was) on the monitor for it to disply properly, but that was easy.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Now I just need to track down how to download HD content off of my DVR receiver to my computer.

Highly recommned this monitor for both computer users and TV users (experience wiring a home stereo, or a friend who knows how, is a must). PIP is great also, you can work away on your computer, and watch TV in the window at the same time.

    Hi,
I recently purchased this monitor (for use only as a TV) and have requested the HD receiver from Comcast as you suggested (not here yet). My question is about changing channels. Can you change channels using the HD receiver? Or is there some other way? I guess I am wondering if I can view ALL cable channels on the monitor and how to do it. Thanks

Hi I am looking for a large LCD display and looks like this is it! Can you tell me if you can put a progressive DVD player and a gaming system on this LCD display? I was told it has 5 inputs? I think it's great that this display can take a HD TV box!

Thank you for your help! A great review!
