Summary CNET reviews have a lack of consistency: Let me explain why:UPDATE:
I own 3 (three) 3008WFP since 2008 , the 3 work flawlessly, they are Revisions A00, A02 and A03, the monitor is one of the best monitors ever made, far better than Apple Cinema 30" .
Mr Franklin you recomended the Gateway XHD3000....have you seen your OWN review page ??? Haven´t you see that this monitor and the same panel Samsung 305T simply BREAKS !!!
I also own a superb HDTV the Sony Bravia KVL-40ZX1M, another reviever (Mr Katzmaier) downgrades its already severe ratin (3 stars) to ...2.5 stars !!!saying "market conditions".
Yes the ZX1 WAS expensive but was SUPERB by any standards , far better than Samsung B7000 for example.
If CNET feels comfortable to degrade the Sony ZX1 make me a favour...please degrade also the Gateway FOR EXTREMELY LONG TERM EXPERIENCE and reflect the Dell 3008 five star value.

I can´t edit small errors in the text of my review now but the quality and service issues with the "recommended" Gateway monitor can be seen in the "User Reviews" section of the CNET main XHD3000 coverage.
Pros The thing is HUGE with an ultra-high resolution, and I think that is what most people look to the 3008WFP for. What I was exceptionally happy with is the clarity, brightness, and the handsome design w/aluminum trim.
Cons I waited some 6-months for the prices to come down to reality from the "new model" inflated price. At $1,699.00 retail price from Dell, I still consider it overpriced from 3007WFP 30". But I finally found deal at $1,409 from Rochester Computer.
Summary The downside is the additional expense of getting a suitable monster graphics card which will add to the expense overall. Still, I saved $$ on the monitor. I purchased my Dell 3008WFP for $1,409 on sale directly from Rochester Computer. Rochester also offers a ?Premium Grade? 3008WFP (with pixel-perfect guarantee) for $55.00 extra. This gave me piece of mind because I hate dead pixels even though many people don't even see them! P.S. Rochester can be reached at (800)394.8404.
