Pros Great Picture. Nice looking monitor. Great Support from Dell.
Cons Questionable durability.
Summary Got this as replacement for a Dell 2404WFP that developed many bad pixels after a year. Hopefully this will hold up better
"Awesome IPS"on by TrackStar1682
Pros Stand, extras like card reader, 4 USB ports, Component, Composite, two DVI, VGA, HDMI, Display Port inputs.
Cons Input lag could be a bit better, but then again, I'm coming from CRT.
Summary I've been using my Ultra Sharp U2410f display for just over a month now. The view on this thing never disappoints, ever. The viewing angles are already SUPER wide and clear, but even so, they included a super smooth stand to turn, tilt, raise or lower the display however you like. Extra USB ports and card reader are handy additions, too, since my desktop does not already include a built in reader, and it gives me a convenient location to charge my phone. Photos are just incredible with amazing detail. Mine didn't exhibit any of the pink or green tinting or the dithering that other have complained about. I know that Dell did release a new revision of this screen, though so that might be why. Movies, TV and fast moving games all look great with no ghosting, however, there is some input lag with regard to gaming. Activating game mode lessens this some, though, so it's about average for an LCD. It even has a "conditioning" mode which can help eliminate mild cases of image retention on screen. That alone could help save you money if you ever end up with a stuck image.
If you're looking for a display with all the extras that looks tremendously better than the cheap monitors off the shelf, you can't do much better, especially for the price, which is far less than all but the very cheapest IPS type panels which offer far less in extras.
Pros Beautiful monitor with great picture
Cons Terrible horizontal banding
Summary I'm on my THIRD replacement monitor from Dell. I finally asked for my money back, and they won't give it back because the thirty days replacement period has passed! I assumed an issue like this would be covered in the three year warranty... no.
I've spent close to 4 hours on the phone w/ tech support (timed via Skype).
Run. Run now. Do not buy!
Pros This monitor delivers amazing clarity, color reproduction and sharpness. The monitor is very bright, but not overwhelming. Colors are brilliant and lifelike.
Cons The stand has a portrait/landscape swivel option. However, when it portrait mode, it's not completely vertical...off about 1/4 inch. I need to put a small spacer under the left side of the stand to level it out in portrait mode.
Summary I love this monitor. I decided to take Cnet's recommendation and spend a little extra money and get the U2410. No regrets at all. I used a Viewsonic 90Gbf 19" CRT monitor for about 6 years, and was very happy with the performance, but putting the Dell U2410 side by side with it is no comparison. The colors on the Dell are so brilliant and clear it makes my old monitor look flat and dull. Video games come alive on this 24" screen! I have detected zero motion blur and have been playing games on it for a few days now. Although the stand in portrait mode isn't straight up and down (see Cons above), everything else about the stand it great. There are so many adjustment options, and the stand is heavy and sturdy, yet it is easy to position. The button controls are nice, but can be a bit touchy to access. However, since I don't really need to access the menu that often, not a huge deal.
I am not experiencing any of the issues that other reviewers have mentioned. Zero dead pixels, and no dithering issues to note. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone.
Pros a monitor with ips specs, good response time
Cons green and pink tint, grainy for movies. does not live up to its name as premium panel. The tint existed on 3 model i exchanged in singapore. the first one i had, had 1 bright pixel. now processing for return of lcd. read below for more information
Summary here's a link at dell forum about how dell deals with the problems.
dell uses a one point test in the middle of the screen so alot of panels passed the test even though it has the green tint on left and pink right on right. yet they do not think it is a problem and disallow exchange of monitors for that problem even though they admitted there is this tint going on.
so those who are planning on getting this monitor. kindly pray that your luck is good and will get one with lesser tint.
