"Excellent monitor for the price."5.0 starson by Shamma_Lammadingdong
Pros: 16:10 aspect ratio, excellent image and text quality, bright anti-glare screen, configurable image quality settings, adjustability.
Cons: None to speak of.
Summary: Look, cnet can complain about how the IPS panel isn't as good as the 2410's, but let's face it, the price of this monitor is very good, and you can't expect to have the best IPS panel in a sub $400 monitor.
I use this monitor for graphic design and web programming. I look at small lines of code all day long and have no issues with the clarity of text. It's sharp, and contrary to the other reviewer, the anti glare treatment does not detract from the quality of text, or images for that matter. I don't even notice it, and it does its job quite well.
Color rendition is good as well as viewing angle. I use this with a 2011 Macbook pro with an Apple branded mini-DVI to DVI adapter which works flawlessly.
The extra pixels from the 16:10 aspect ratio, which seems minor, makes a big difference. It's much better than 16:9 for what I do. Gamers may prefer the 16:9 ratio.
I researched monitors for months before buying the 2412, and looked at every single brand that offered an IPS monitor. No other monitor came close to the quality of the dell at the sub $400 price point and included the warranty that dell offers (very important.) I don't regret my purchase at all.
