  • "Dell U2413 - excellent Adobe RGB monitor for the money!"
    on by Divus1

Pros - Adobe RGB for that little money,
    - excellent and even brightness,
    - automatically changing display modes,
    - plenty of connections (incl. Display Port),
    - 3 years warranty,
    - very fast USB 3.0 connection on the side of the screen.

Cons - a bit shaky case.

Summary You get so much for the price with this monitor! There's Adobe RGB, comfortable 1920X1200 pixels, excellent brigthness (you actually have to dim it down for graphic work), excellent rendition of detail, hardly ever visible light fallout towards the corners (it's really tiny). This monitor gets razor sharp when attached to display port.
The most important! Anti-glare coating is almost perfect! Heaven better than U2410! (I know it - I've returned U2410 because of terrible anti-glare coating). You would probably have to use magnifying glass to see it. Having said that - U2410 had more sturdy case and wasn't so wobbly (the only drawback of U2413 I can see). It gets a bit shaky when you try to insert USB stick or memory card into USB/card reader slot. I can live with it and enjoy this monitor sooo much. I never seen colours like that (but to be honest never had Adobe RGB monitor before).
You can attach different display mode to each piece of software (Lightroom - adobe RGB, Internet Explorer - paper etc.) and it will activate automatically when you open the software. This is very useful. "Paper" mode (slightly yellowish) is far better for reading text than standard monitor (my eyes feel so much better with it!). Do not get cross with touch sensitive buttons - the best way to operate them is to quickly approach and quickly REMOVE finger to the side (out of the sensitivity area) before "pressing" again.
    Perfect monitor for the money!
