"Quick up time, but shuts off on its own on start up after 2 yrs 1 month time, frustrating."
Pros: Quick up time, when its working, nice clarity.
Cons: See Opinion below.
Summary: I've owned this monitor for 2 yrs 1 month and though Im not sure the usual length of time a monitor lasts, I've owned CRT monitors for 5 or more years without problems. This one started experiencing problems which I have to turn it off and on (today was 10 times) continuously before it'll stay on. Otherwise it turns off after coming on. The green light remains lit, which the company told me indicates its the monitor problem, not the video card, and I need to replace the monitor.
I really wish I'd known this, because I'd owned CRT's and never had the monitor run out before having to get a new computer. As I mentioned, this was my first LCD monitor, so I don't know if this is commonplace or not. Once the computer is finally on, I have no problems, but Im just afraid one of these times the computer won't come on at all, so now I must go out and purchase a new monitor for a computer that still runs after 2 yrs and 1 month.

I have had my monitor for about 4-5years. Until today, there was never an issue. The monitor was turned off for installation of some RAM. Once that was complete and the monitor was reconnected and turned on, the start up title appeared then it went dark. No buttons would bring anything up and the green light stayed lit. I loved this monitor so much I was wishing that I could find a fix for it. After hearing such an almost identical situation, I am very upset with the fact that I will have to deal with a widescreen. It is practically impossible to find a monitor similar to this. I did get more use out of it though. I just wish that I had the same warnings that it was going to do this!
