"CNET Review is BOGUS" on by darthlaidher2001
Pros: The HP 2709m is a very nice monitor the colors are vivid and is very bright(you can turn the brightness down) I noticed no screen tearing at all in DVI.I did not try VGA because i prefer DVI.Its a very large screen and well worth the price.
Cons: Lack of features.
Summary: The Lack of Features is the only down side I seen with the HP2709m.The screen size is nice and cant beat it for the price(Newegg &369,Frys $349) I think you will be hard pressed to find a monitor this size for that cheap and come out a winner.
the HP W2558HC may have all the bells and whistles but that comes at an extra orice aswell. So bottom line is if you want a 27' with vivid colors then this is the monitor for you.
One note though, not really a con but out of the box you might need to tweak the color and brightness a little bit.
Overall a good buy. -
"Excellent, Beautiful Design, A great Value" on by ny2nv
Pros: Image is first rate, added a internal Blu-Ray to my system just for this set. 1080p is outstanding. Best of all the price, would buy again.
Cons: At first the display was to bright, after adjustments great. Would have liked 2 HDMI inputs.
Summary: Well made, love the stand and swivel base, even the power switch is beautiful. After almost a year not one problem. Recommended.

"This is an outstanding monitor at a great price." on by lumar675
Pros: I compared the HP 2709m to an LG M2762D side by side at Fry's. I wanted to buy the LG product for the lower price and the HDTV tuner. I could not get past the vastly superior display quality of the HP 2709. I bought it to replace an HP W2408.
Cons: I hated giving up the HDTV tuner in the LG M2762M to buy the HP 2709M, especially at a higher price.
Summary: I am 100% satisfied with my HP 2709M.

"Very good for what it it and price." on by Zerotrek
Pros: I tried this monitor at a friends house, it seemed very good compared to other 27" monitors. The smaller size monitors for no seem to have better screens, but at this size for this price I'll take it.
Cons: Not as good as some smaller screen monitors.
Summary: Curious this review says the HP w2558 is 24.5" and 25.5". They say you may rather go with the w2558 because it has more features, but those features aren't mentioned head to head and if the w2558 is 24.5" then a 1.5" difference seems rather large.

"Beautiful Display, very few complaints." on by dhowie315
Pros: Beautiful Panel, Very Attractive Design, No screen tearing whatsoever (cnet seems to be the only reviewer who had screen tearing), text and images are very sharp, deep blacks hard time noticing any difference between this and the new u2410.
Cons: Limited viewing angle.
Thats it my only complaint.Summary: I own a U2410 Dell Ultrasharp lcd as well, and I find myself constantly using the HP 2709m. It's a excellent display, i get many compliments.
