"your mileage may vary (YMMV)" on by dysonl
Pros: good picture, glossy, affordable
Cons: flimsy and limited usefullness of stand, 1 year warranty, ymmv quality, no DVI cable
Summary: I had it for a week. The glossy screen and frame are nice. The picture clear and color are accurate and vivid. Backlight bleeding or leaking is minimal and barely noticeable with black background. Good value for the money (paid 200$ CAD).
What I really don't like is the stand design. The base has some small soft fabric cushions underneath that makes the whole monitor less stable than it should. Also, due to manufacturing defect, the monitor might not be perfectly horizontal and you can't do anything about it since the stand only lets you tilt the panel.
Also, the HP only backs this product with a 1-year warranty while other companies give 3 years. This might say something about the quality over the long run.
In fact, the first one I got was very bad: the backlight bleeding was horrible, color reproduction was non-uniform and the control buttons felt like they were going to fall off by any minute. I returned it and got a new one that is far better in all aspects.
So, keep in mind that YMMV with this one. -
"Good display - poor sound" on by Nanook6633
Pros: Picture quailty, brightness, price
Cons: Speakers, sound quality
Summary: I bought this monitor to go along side my Dell Laptop. Great looking monitor and produces very good bright images.
My only disappointment is the speakers. In fact, I would have given it a higher score if it didn't even come with speakers. But since they market the product with speakers, they should at least be better than the $5 mini speakers you can get at Walmart. Even my laptop speakers sound better.
If you're just looking for a nicely designed monitor with a good picture at an affordable price - look no further. Just don't put sound quality in your list of requirements. -
"The best monitor EVER!" on by joonkimdds
Pros: Super sharp! Super super just everything super
Cons: 1 dead pixel.
Summary: Today is July 26,2007 and the price was $230. I got disccount from my friend and paid $210. Only 1 dead pixel was found but it's not a big deal. I don't have a computer desk so putting the keyboard underneath the monitor is PLUS. People are complaining that they can't adjust the height but it's perfect for me. 20 inch with 1680x1050 was making everything look so small and 22inch was too big and expensive($360=>$310with disccount) so I chose this over w2007 and w2207 models(same but different inch).
Mine was manufactured in May(that's what the box said) and the box also said "DVI cable included" so please check the manufacture date and this sticker saying "DVI cable included" before you buy it. If you buy the ones that were made before may, it may not have DVI cable in it. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE STICKER!
I heard that speaker in this monitor sux but I already have my speaker so I don't even gonna bother testing it.
If you have more questions, send me email, joonkimdds@hotmail.com and I will be more than glad to answer your question. Thanks.
p.s. I was gonna give it 10 out of 10 but this website is saying 10 out of 10 is so rare blah blah blah and so i was like ok fine, there was 1 dead pixel and speaker is weak so I give it 9

"Rating of this monitor" on by thelawnmowerman
Pros: sleek looking, halfway decent text, multiple preconfigured modes
Cons: HORRIBLE adjustment options
Summary: Overall for the price, you get a lot for what you pay for. Hooked into a non DVI connection to a laptop right now and it is crisp and clear. On-monitor sound is less than sub-par, get a decent set of speakers or hook into your audio rack. Opting for the smaller of the two available, this is the 19, it isn't a desk hog, the "keyboard" try is sort of ok but really serves no function other than to set said wireless KB or a pen on. The gloss finish adds a nice touch in the looks dept along with the backlit blue power on/off button but fails in the dust magnet dept... keep a swiffer handy.
Overall I can say that this is one of the better monitors that I have used comming off CRT'S. Controls are easy to find on the lower front, unlike some that have ultra sensitive side mounted options.
Hope this helps any shoppers. -
"Great monitor. Only a couple things..." on by ChubbyCheese
Pros: Great quality, Crisp picture. Vivid colors.
Cons: No DVI-D cable. No height adustment.
Summary: This monitor is great for the money. Bought it for $199. Out of the box it was great. Spent about 5 minutes scouring for the contents trying to find the DVI cable but much to my dismay there was none. Apparently only in select models does the cable come with it. And I also wish that I could adjust the height of it. All in all a great monitor.
