"Exceptional Monitor with an Ingenious Design"4.5 starson by Cylon13
Pros: Spectacular Performance, Flexible Base, and Reasonably Priced.
Cons: Abysmal Sounding Integrated Speakers. Buggy Software . Need a Printed Owners Manual for Trouble-Shooting.
Summary: The HP w2207 is an exceptional monitor in many respects. The ingenious design lets the user adjust the height and view (portrait or landscape) with absolute ease. In addition, you can even mount the W2207 on a wall like the larger LCDs.
The Color is brilliant, the picture is crisp, and the reflective surface delivers additional clarity. After using the monitor for several months, there has been no ghosting, stuttering, backlight bleeding, or color distortion. Even watching a DVD movie for two hours has been flawless. Please note, that in order for the monitor to perform at this level, you will need a GOOD GRAPHICS CARD installed on your computer. I have an Nvidia GeForce 7600GT (mid-range card) and the performance is exceptional. This graphics card also has its own control panel for monitor management. I simply connected the monitor to my computer and Nvidia did the rest. Therefore, I didn't bother using HP's buggy software and inadequate documentation. If you don't have a good graphics card, you may experience some difficulty with the monitor's setup or performance using HP's software. Also, use the HDMI jack to obtain the best connection possible.
The biggest con for this Monitor is the integrated speakers. This is one of the reasons I couldn't give this product a 10. The sound is abysmal. Listening to music played from a tin-can would afford the listener a better experience. This disgraceful oversight by HP has ruined an almost perfect product. Also, they should have included an S-Video input for more connectability. And, a printed Owner's manual would have been most helpful during trouble-shooting, if your monitor isn't "functional."
In conclusion, this is a Spectacular Monitor for a reasonable price. The brilliance and clarity produced by the HP w2207 is exceptional. The design is beautiful, intelligent and flexible. If you can work around the minor software and speakers issues, this is one of the best Monitors your money can buy.

Correction in the second paragraph, last sentence. It is DVI not HDMI.Updated
In the second paragraph, last sentence I mentioned the connectivity as being HDMI. This is incorrect. It should read: DVI.
