"Its the new 226BW"4.5 starson by arsenic0
Pros: High Gamut, Bright backlighting, low response times, 3 year warranty
Cons: Stand is not adjustable as i would like
Summary: I've had this monitor now for several months and its been worth every penny.
The 226CW is basically the 226BW with their new High Gamut technology which allows them to display 97% of the visible colors accurately on the screen. Most can only display 92% currently.
The 226BW is now stricken with many different versions with the internal panels being made by different vendors, with no way of knowing which one you have until you buy it and physically open the thing up. You may end up with their S model 226BW and have one of the best monitors out there, or one of the other's that are not nearly as high of quality. The 226CW is at this stage guaranteed to only contain Samsung displays because the other companies do not yet have displays that offer the high gamut.
As anybody who has ever used a Samsung product, LCD, DLP TV or otherwise will tell you they have some of the most vibrant and bright screens out there.
I am a hardcore gamer, and also do some 3d modelling work as well. The monitor is phenominal when you are running at 1680x1050. I would highly recommend this monitor for anybody looking at a 226BW but who is weary of getting a bad version, as well as to anybody who wants a quality built LCD.
Having 3 year warranty is also a very large bonus, as many only give 1 year. This saves you a lot of money not having to buy the extended warranty from Best Buy or Circuit City.
