Pros High resolution, good contrast and luminosity, nice desing on the front, clear image.
Cons Bad standard configured presets for colours, only 1 DVI connector on the back
The power led flashes like crazy when in stand by mode.
Bad vertical viewing angle, though placed in a good position it won't be noticeable.
Summary I first bought this monitor after seeing it at one of my colleagues. I really like it's front panel display and the size of it is huge. Despite many reviews I do considder this a very good monitor for design and media plus the gaming experience is excelent.
It is quite anoying the fact that HDMI connector will cause you many problems since the monitor's optimum display is 1900x1200 and therefore you will have some issues when setting it up with a 1080 compliant device.
It's adjustability is really good and despite it's size it won't take up much space on your desk.
The first thing to do when you buy this monitor is to start tweaking the colour settings since the presets that come by default are terrible.
Another thing that I considder anoying is the flashing led on the front panel. It has quite high intensity and it keeps flashing like crazy. It is really unconfortable and eventually it will drive you to turn of completely the monitor eventually if you have to stay with it in your face for too long.
I really recommend it to anyone who is a fan of big displays. It's a good value especially because its price is affordable. I only wish they'd make these in crystal clear (glossy) displays.
Pros Big, bright, very adjustable, touch sensor adjustment, response time, looks,Inputs,HDMI
no burnt pixels, menu, MOVIES. 1920x1200 resolution. Contrast.
Great for gaming if you have a powerful PC and video card or cards SLI or Crossfire.
Cons Zero I can think of for now, other than needing a beefy graphics card or two if you plan on gaming with this monitor and hope for any decent framerates.
Summary I picked this up at a BB on clearance and I am very pleased. I have owned, Viewsonic,LG,Acer,Dell and another Samsung, so I do have a little experience in the LCD department. The reference to the viewing angle and distortion in the corner is NONEXISTENT in mine,...I even tried to "make" it happen by going to extreme viewing angles,..weird. Movies and games are great, but the HDR in some instances will over-saturate most larg LCD's
I do understand the comment about not being able to see the menu in a dark room,....true.
But I would buy this monitor again in a heartbeat,..best I have owned.
Pros 1920x1200 resolution of clarity and striking colors. PC, DVI, and HDMI connections. Plugged in my PS3 with the HDMI and even get adequate sound through the speakers! Touch-sensative controls - Star Trek is still alive! 3-year warranty!
Cons Throws some heat! I am able to feel the heat on my face just sitting at my desk. But the worst is that the touch controls are not lit and due to the brightness of the screen, you can't see the controls! You have to fumble to make adjustments.
