"BEWARE:Samsung 204Bs DEFECTIVE - Known Flicker Problem"
0.5 starson by walk_the_walkPros: I bought this monitor in Sept. 2006 and thought it was wonderful. Later bought two Samsung TVs. But after 2 years, it developed a constant flicker problem (Google Samsung 204B flicker problem for yourself) and it would not stop.
Cons: The flicker problem is caused by 3 defective capacitors in the power supply. CHEAP chinese capacitors cause the monitor to flicker constantly and eventually QUIT. I was lucky, mine was in the last 2 months of the warranty. DONT BUY IT - ITS JUNK!
Summary: SAMSUNG knows about this problem and has not issued a recall. One person posted details on how to fix this problem by replacing the capacitors. Buy another monitor or get extended warranty protection. Otherwise, your monitor will eventually fail and become a big boat anchor. Samsung should do a recall for this well known defect!
