"My search has been justified"
Pros: This monitor ROCKS. All the features I need, Phenominal clarity, colors and a brightness that puts the competition to shame.
Cons: A little expensive but better than the rest in this price range.
Summary: I searched quite a while for this one. I had other choices in which I almost purchased the Dell 24" only after seeing and almost buyibg the Viewsonic 2025WM unit. I wanted a wide-screen but none really hit me at the time and the reviews were pretty mixed on both those units. But when I saw the Samsung 244T in Circuit City on display, I was absolutely blown away. And, it was playing a DVD movie with the clarity and brightness that other reviewers only mentioned with not a great deal of enthusiasm.
This monitor is the best I've ever seen in a large screen display. No dead pixels, just brilliant, clear, colored pictures and super clear text images. BTW, I also play games... Yes, I'm in my mid 50's and I play games. I play the single player war games or just about any FP Shooters. I love all kinds and wanted a monitor that would engulf my senses while I played. Well...I found exactly what I had been looking for and for quite some time. The Samsung 244T just puts me in the middle of the action and keeps me there for all the excitement and goose bumps that only games like FEAR, Call of Duty, Allied Assault, Far Cry, Doom and of coarse, Half Life 2 and Half Life 2:Episode One can only do. When I adjusted the resolution to 1920X1280 while in the games, as well as adjusting my desktop display area to the same resolution, the screen and images were astonishing. It was like I was playing the games for the first time with a new excitement. The images and graphics were simply AWESOME. And the colors...it was like I bought a new graphics card. You'll just have to see it to believe it.
So, if you have been looking around for a monitor like I have...and you knew this was coming...LOOK NO FURTHER. I would have paid a grand for this monitor but I was lucky to find it for $803.00 at Apparelandtech.com. In my oppinion, the Samsung 244T is the best deal and monitor on the market.
Save your nickels and go and get one for yourself.
