Pros: Nice picture, but it will break.
Cons: After about one year or so it will quit working. You will be waiting and fighting to get it fix or a refund. Worst costumer service ever. Samsung is the con here.
Summary: Samsung will send you back a dinged up refurb or a refund if you still have your receipt or market value which is 100 to 200 less than a replacement... I bought 3 all 3 stop working with in 1 year. 2 were refurbed and sent back scratched up and mounting stand was 20 degree off level. The 3rd monitor was sent in Aug 09. Just received notice that they will give me a refund they can?t make a new one, but there still for sale. After I have call about every other week them telling me we are sending a new one repeatedly. Maybe they fixed the problem in the product but the way they handled the situation and the condition that the 2 were sent back in is my main problem. I will never buy another Samsung product ever again.

Pros: Cheap. Big.
Cons: Cheap. We bought hundreds and now they die almost daily. Returns are a pain.
Summary: They discontinued this model for a reason.

Pros: Unbelievably rich colour, sharpness
Cons: Minimal options for inputs
Summary: This monitor is absolutely outstanding!
I vacillated for a while between the Dell Ultrasharp 3007 and the Samsung for a while, until I was able to see them side by side. The Samsung has the sharpest text display of any of the 30" monitors I've looked at (Apple, Samsung, Dell), superb colour balance and sharpness.
The main downside against the Samsung was the single HDMI port, and lack of HDCP support. Not enough to swing me over to the Dell, though!
I'm very happy with my monitor.
Oh by the way, Samsung has a zero dead pixel warranty, which I really like!!! Not sure about the other mfrs. -

Pros: nice and useful resolution, when it works
Cons: After a few months the expensive monitor stopped working...
The replacement wasnt working either...
Samsung seems to refuse to do anything about it!
Support take months and dont fix the problem
total waste of time and moneySummary: after sending back the defective monitor, they sent me another monitor (exchanged took 2 months!), but the replacement has the same problem.... now I sent back the second one and I am waiting since 2 months... Samsung seems to refuse to do anything about it!
That 3 year warranty is pretty useless... Samsung: never again I will buy anything from you, you are just not respecting your customers. -

Pros: Excellent quality display, when it works.
Cons: Impossibly bad customer support.
Summary: A fine monitor, but...
Mine stopped working after 9 months. Waited 2 months for a replacement, only to be told when I asked what was going on that they had no replacement units in stock. That's right: Samsung don't have any more of these. Still waiting for a refund and determined never to buy from Samsung again.
So, a great deal while it works. If anything goes wrong, expect to waste a lot of time and energy dealing with their customer service and don't expect them to replace your unit.
