"Excellent quality, features and price" on by freakonguitar
Pros: price, 19" widescreen, LCD, quick response time, DVI connection, bright
Cons: stand doesn't have height adjustment, no others aside from that
Summary: I got this screen because 20" ws's cost about 100 dollars more than this screen and only offer a bit higher res. and a bit more screen real estate. This has been an excellent monitor so far. It is nice and bright, and works well when i tried some Halo II, or other games. response time is quick, colours are nice, and it has a nice sleek black casing. the stand if fairly solid aside from that it could use a height adjustment. It has quicker response time than any other 19" ws on the market and was a bit cheaper too. It cost me only 245cdn. No dead pixels and comes with a DVI and VGA cable in the box.

"The Best Value" on by Brian
Pros: 4ms response, 1440x900 resolution, simple design, under 10 lbs.
Cons: Not the wow factor in the more expensive monitors
Summary: The Samsung SyncMaster 940BW is a very good choice and the best value for the money.
For under $300 bucks, I found an outstanding value.
I spent an entire day researching on several websites to narrow my selection to this monitor.
No monitor (currently) comes with an HDTV tuner, so why purchase a monitor with an analog tuner when it will be phased out in 2/2009???
You can purchase an HDTV tuner card for your PC and enjoy HDTV on any monitor, so I decided to narrow my choices to the best monitor that has no built-in tuner or speakers.
My primary concern was how much money I would save on my monthly energy bill.
This monitor uses very low wattage (42 Watts max, according to the official website).
I can finally watch DVD movies on in a very realistic setting and feel that I could never go back to a standard size monitor for personal use.
To get the most from this monitor, I purchased a new HDMI DVD player as well as the Monster cable (very expensive, very high quality) and connected it.
Everything worked out of the box and you can switch from PC to DVD with the push of a button.
This monitor powers on/off extremely fast. Other monitors make you wait a few seconds, but this one is instant.
The brightness is so bright, I manually lowered the brightness.
While the HDMI input is great, the more expensive TV monitors are indeed better.
This monitor weighs less than 10 pounds, making it very easy to connect to a wall mount or a desk mount.
For the cost, the value of this monitor (plus the cost of the wattage savings on my energy bill) make this monitor the best value.

The correction is about the price.
I originally stated that this monitor was under $300 bucks, but I paid even less.
I paid $199.99 for the Samsung SyncMaster 940BW and I am even happier now that I've reviewed the receipt. -
"For the price you can't get a better monitor" on by ry1247

"Get it or regret it" on by OldManYoung
Pros: Sleek Design, b-e-a-uutiful colors, i like the dual vga and dvi connectors, price is amazing!, HDCP, 4MS response time
Cons: cant adjust the height but i dont need it anyway.
Summary: What a monitor. I was pretty shocked at the price. But so are other 19" Wide screen monitors now. Very affordable.
The first that strike me was its sexy sleek design. It looks amazing, especially the sliver/black model that i have. Looks pretty on my desktop.
The 4ms response time helps a hell of a lot in games and movies. I have absolutely no ghosting problems whatsoever. There is even a Response Time booster. Awesome!
The immediate helpful feature this monitor has is the application presets. It has differet presets for Text, Internet, Games, Sport and Movies. This gives just perfect brightness, contrast, color ratio for the application.
I need my monitor to be bright and colorfull when i play games and little warm when i am on the net and these settings are easy to turn on.
The colors are splendid and vibrant. And being widescreen the games and movies (good quality ones, espeically) looks just drool-able.
This is the best bang for your buck. Buy it now!Updated
Oh yea forgot to mention...this monitor also has VGA and DVI connectors. Yea, i knw many monitors have this but it can also swtich between analog (vga) and digital (dvi) inputs on the fly with a click of a button.
This prompted me to buy the VGA cables for my Xbox 360 so i can hook it up with this monitor and gain more gaming time for myself.
So imagine u r playing some game where u dont knw where to go. You can then switch on ur pc, change to digital input, check the walkthrough, switch back to analog and continue playing!
