"Great product for the intended consumer!" on by cardensm

    Pros: Great display, HDMI cable($80), 3D glasses($80), Motorstorm game($60)

Cons: Not good if you want a 50 inch 3D TV.

Summary: Bottom line is if you don't need to see 3D on a 50 inch plus screen get this. It does what it should very well. If you already own the new PS3 remote, you have one for this monitor. Without the extra's (HDMI, game, glasses) the monitor cost about $250 which isn't that bad at all.

"A fantastic 3D display at a great price!" on by jlj9064

Pros: The screen is crisp and colorful. The 3D is amazing(depending on the media source of course). Pretty decent sound for a monitor like this. Including a pair of glasses and an HDMI cable is a nice bonus. Comes with Motorstorm Apocalypse

Cons: No included remote(this can be fixed by purchasing the playstation media remote). Screen might be too small for some. A couple more HDMI inputs would have been nice. Screen glare might be a problem in certain environments because of the glossy glass.

Summary: I think this is a fantastic display that meets all my needs perfectly. It's a really good computer monitor and playing games or Watching HD media on this thing is a real treat(in 2D or 3D). It includes everything you need to jump right into 3D content and any additional things you need like glasses or remotes are fairly priced. All in all I think this is an amazing display that will satisfy anybody looking for a display in this size.

"It's a great TV / monitor for a small space" on by icedcornholio

Pros: Can be used in 3D with your Xbox 360 or PC; picture is goregous and Sony Bravia-like. Two HDMI inputs and one Component input. Audio is decent -- better than I expected but not home theater quality.

Cons: No remote? what was sony thinking? Also, no TV tuner so you'll have to bring your own access (I view TV through my Tivo)

Summary: Don't let this official review fool you, it's a much better TV than the reviewer implies.
Yes, there is no Cable IN, so you'll have to watch TV through another source, like a Cable converter box via HDMI or a Tivo. There's also no remote control but anyone on this site most likely has some sort of universal remote (Harmony) or buys the PS3 Blu-Ray remote which controls the TV, so it's not really a bad thing.
While it's neat that the HDMI signal can control the power (you shut off the PS3 or 360, it will shut off the TV and vice versa, it did seem unable to read the Tivo via HDMI unless I hit the tivo button first. I worked around this by using component instead and turned off the HDMI power control.
These are minor things. the 3D effect is great and the Simulview is a great idea. I hope more games have this, but right now selection is limited.
You can play CoD Black Ops on your 360 in 3D, you just have to change the 3D mode to side-by-side. It's very easy to do. There's a 3d button on the blu ray remote to change the type of 3D.

And of course, the size. 24" is great for my office space and perfect. It's replacing a 24" so I'm okay with it.

If you're looking for a 50" this isn't the TV for you. You get a game, glasses and a 3D TV for under $500. You can't beat it...and it's a SONY television. Did I mention how good 1080p looks -- you can tell the difference even on a 24" from 720 to 1080.

So, don't let the review fool you. This is a great set priced right.

"Amazing [must have] Accessory for PS3 : Very Classy !" on by Qorax1

    Pros: 1. FHD, 1080p
    2. Sharp / Xtal clear Display
    3. Superb 3D rendering
    4. In-built Wi-Fi, which is pretty powerful
    5. Great looker
    6. Value for money

    Cons: NONE, for that price-point.

Summary: Well, got mine a week back. It was a pretty cool purchase for $400, bundled with all the usual in package [as per Sony] + Logitech Driving Force Wireless STEERING + 8xGames [4x3D] + 7x3D Movies + one Addnl Controller + One Addnl 3D Glasses... I'm sure that's a good bargain! Viva www.kijiji.ca!

Drools apart -- this system is a killer. As I connected it & fired-it-up -- it went straight into its awesome vibrancy. The menu is just right [all Sony's are], the colors are crisp, the images are well-detailed, the video is stunning. And man, what looks! It shapes itself on the curves of a PSP, that apart the black screen, its thin bezel and the overall slimness of the product is wonderfully ravishing.

I continued to play with it for a week before I sat to write this review, 'coz I wanted to be right... and right I am. This made my PS3 move to the den [from our family room], which was bugging me since long - as I didn't want the constant naggig of my kids to go 'Gaming' rather than TVing [gosh, there should've been a word like that]. This eqpt. gets to be a superb stand-alone display for the PS3... and it does kind of augments it as a wholesome package.

    3D rendering:
    -----------
Now comes the best part! To everyone out there who's contemplating its purchase, let me reassure you that this "Playstation 3D display" does an amazing job at it. Alongwith it's PS3 branded 3D 'active shutter' glassess - you get the most vibrant 3D experience you could ever imagine. The 3D quality that you get from this display IS AT PAR [or beyond] to any premium 3D TV that you could buy. I've compared it to the Sony Bravia KDL 55" HX820 TV [IMHO, the best 3D TV that you could get today - well, that's another discussion altogether] and am of the opinion that it's performance is 'exactly' the same.

Played 3D blu-ray movies like Avatar, IMAX-Under the Sea, Transformer-3 and couple of more, man-o-man, the 3D experience was surreal to be honest. Very very deep, popping-out types and at many moments it was holographic. I had never ever imagined that a 24-incher could do that... this display is impressively excellent.

Ok, we have heard about Ghosting, Lags, Flickering, Bleeding, Poor-Blacks, Stuttering etc. didn't we? All the terms those are associated with 'active-shutter' 3D displays. Let me once again tell you -- they DO NOT EXIST with this "Playstation 3D Display" unit. It's 3D reproduction, coupled with its powered glasses, is fantastic. I've not found anything, anything at all to complain about.

    So, there you go.
Thinking of buying a separate TV for your PS3? Stop looking elsewhere - fetch the "Playstation 3D Display" instead... you'd thank me forever !

"Great Picture and Awesome 3D; but a very annoying ISSUE" on by Lapwner

    Pros: -Great picture quality
-Great for new 3D users (such as myself)
    -Motorstorm is awesome in 3D
    -Includes HDMI cable
    -Good audio quality
-Switching from a 40" to this display wasn't as hard as I thought it would be
    -1080p looks great

Cons: -Not worth the $499 price tag (I got mine for $299)
-Screen blanking ISSUE; blanks the screen for a few seconds randomly; happens often
    -No remote included
    -Glossy screen can get annoying
-3D glasses can get uncomfortable after continuous play

Summary: Overall I enjoy this product, however, the screen blanking issue is very common and can get very annoying...contacted Sony (others have to) and they seem to be oblivious to this issue for some reason. Also, this isn't worth $500 in my opinion, I picked it up for $299 and was still wondering whether or not I payed too much. But in the end, this is a great display for people who want to try out 3D, or just want a small display to game with in their room or office.
