"Simply Amazing"
Pros: Color and contrast is the best of any currentl LCD!
Cons: found one dead pixel in black...welcome to LCDs.
Summary: I am shocked that this review bashes one of the most impressive LCDs currently on the market. Why is this LCD so much more expensive than many others...because it's better. I am not a big Sony fan and have not been impressed with many of their products, including their last series of monitor. All LCD's I have previously compared had bad contrast issues, either things are too dark or way too bright and washed out...so I thought I would have to compromise visual accuracy to get that CRT off my desk...but not more...the glass like surface of the Sony actually eliminates that grainy effect found on LCDs, it properly handles contrast and colors are very rich! I found this monitor in a poorly lighted computer warehouse, sharing a terrible VGA connector with several others...the picture looked terrible! However, since a visually anal friend of mine told me to check this monitor out, I purchased one for trial. I took it home and placed it beside my friend's new Benq, which I thought was okay for the price....the difference was night and day.
If you dwell in a noisy lighted flourescent office, this monitors glass-like screen may cause relection issues. However, I work at home without issue. I regularly work with apps like Photoshop and Premiere Pro where picture quality is quite important. Cnet's review helped illustrate that one should not completely rely on reviews and product specifications...purchase from stores that have a return policy so you may try the product out! I can finally retire my 80lb CRT!
