"Excellent Monitor if you know what to expect"
Pros: Small Footprint, Excellent Contrast
Cons: Native resolution is 1680 X 1050
Summary: It's important to realize that this monitor is 20.1 inches DIAGONALLY. It is smaller vertically than 19" LCD screens. I've used this for office applications (in which case you'll LOVE the the portrait mode) as well as gaming. With regards to gaming: I STRONGLY recommend that your system incorporates an Nvidia 6800GT or higher(or ATI's X800 series). Playing games in the native resolution on Half-Life2, Guild Wars, and Warcraft looks fantastic. I felt that the response time was just barely noticeable. That being said, after a few days of using it for gaming, it becomes invisible until you play on a CRT. I recommend this monitor for the space it saves and the excellent quality. Dell and Apple use the same LG manufacturer for both their screens. Dell's is brighter and does have some backlighting, but I tested 2 movies on it and did not notice any problems. However, the all-black screen that is displayed during boot-up shows some white light coming through in each of the corners. When it's not all black... it's great. Again, if you're looking at apple, get this Dell because it can be had for MUCH cheaper (i got mine for 400 with rebates). Don't pay full price for this, wait for rebates on either slickdeals.net or fatwallet.com
