"Huuuuuge and good... but...." on by werfulsnerf

Pros: The size is awesome, looks bigger on my large desk then it did in the store. Also colors are very nice, as a hard core computer geek/enginner I really like this monitor, I cannot really fault it.

Cons: My opionion of the contracts is a little off from my 20 viewsonic WS monitor that I just passed off to my wife, The stupid sticker on the top front of the monitor is a pain to get off and leaves goo

Summary: Other then the sticker and the cheesy cable management on the back I would give this thing a 10. No pixel issues, clean lines, Everquest2 and my flight sims and FPS's rock on this thing.

The only other thing that bugs me is the control buttons are small hard to see and flush mounted, which looks nice but are a pain to use...

But be ready to get some neck exercises in because you will not be able to see the WHOLE display without moving your head! Did I mention this thing is HUUUUGE!??

"Does everything I want it to do." on by Mergatroid Mania

    Pros: Great brightness and contrast.

    Cons: Piano black...yuck...large bezel

Summary: I got this monitor refurbished. I must say it's a very nice monitor. I have a Samsung here, a 22" widescreen, and I love it, but this monitor has an even brighter picture, and it doesn't wash out. I loved my Samsung, and bought the Viewsonic just to use on my spare computer for when friends come over. After using it for a month this way, I swapped monitors and now use the Viewsonic on my computer. It is brighter with better contrast. It also seems to have less motion blur. It does not have the presets my Samsung has, but it doesn't seem to need them as everything looks fine on it. I have a computer desk with a hutch. One problem I've found is that the monitor won't fit into the hutch, it's just too big. So, it sits slightly in front of the hutch. I find the height of the monitor is perfect for me, so I don't have to use the height adjustment but a larger person would have no problem at all since it's so easy to use. The speakers sound like what you would expect from speakers in a monitor cabinet. I don't bother using them since I have a surround system, however I would think they would be handy in an office where a sound system or external speakers would just get in the way. However, the area at the bottom of the bezel where the speakers are mounted is quite large, and adds to the size of the bezel. This is why the monitor already stands so high, and why it won't fit in my hutch. When combined with the silver trim that sticks out about 1/4 of an inch all around the outside of the bezel, it makes the overall size of the monitor quite large. My 22" Samsung looks downright slim beside this large beasty.
All in all, this monitor is sweet. I would recommend it to anyone not having a hutch over their desk.

"Great Monitor for the money" on by p0stmark

    Pros: Big Screen, Looks Nice

Cons: Not many video inputs, and could have better contrast

Summary: My cube is right next to a sunny windown, so maybe my contrast remark is a little harsh, but the no HMDI input is a bummer. Other than that, great screen.

"It is a beautiful monitor" on by imfrmwi

Pros: No dead or stuck pixels, very professional looking, great bezel, sharp and crisp images.

Cons: not a lot of video inputs. Just the DVI and VGA

Summary: I have spent countless hours reading reviews on cnet and other sites looking for a 22" LCD monitor and I narrowed it down to this one. I was prepared to spend $300.00 on a nice 22” and when I found this for $245.99 (on clearance and no shipping fees), I couldn't resist. This monitor is really nice. The LCD screen dimensions measure 18 5/8" across and 11 1/8" high (22” diagonally). The entire monitor measures 20 1/2" across and 15 1/2" high (excluding base). With base it measures 17 3/8" high and can adjust to a maximum height of 22 3/4". I have ZERO dead or stuck pixels and it came with a power, DVI and VGA cable. The monitor can swivel and the viewing angle is more than adequate for me. Huge built-in powerful speakers, USB hubs and headphone jacks were not important for me and I am glad ViewSonic didn’t spend the time to include them (except for the 2 2-watt speakers). Instead, they spent the time and money in designing a great LCD screen. It is a matte (non-glossy) screen surrounded by a flat black and silver outlined plastic frame. The swivel base is also matte black and is not prone to smudging as I have read on other reviews (who touches their monitor after eating ribs and hotwings anyway?). The 2 2-watt speakers are located at the bottom of the screen. It is very professional looking and the stand seems very sturdy. The power button is located at the bottom center (below the speakers) and the power light is soft blue.

Upgrading from a 19” CRT, this screen is plenty big and bright. In fact, I had to dim it a bit to prevent migraines. I use my computer for web-surfing, photo editing and graphic design work, light gaming and occasional DVD viewing and I am currently using a GeForce 6600 card. All work that I do on this screen is exceptional. I had no “stupid sticker” issues and the cables cannot be seen even with the monitor fully extended. This monitor was so inexpensive, I was able to spend an extra $14.00 for another year of warranty and $10.00 for a 15-foot DVI cable. The menu buttons are located on the lower right-hand edge of the monitor and yes, it is difficult to feel and see the buttons but I have this amazing ability to memorize 4 buttons and their uses so it is not an issue for me. In fact, I am glad they are out of the way and out of view. I didn't use the drivers off the included CD but rather, downloaded it from ViewSonic's web site. No installation issues. If you want an all-around excellent monitor for a terrific price, this is the monitor for you.

In short, bright, crisp, and large viewing area, great monitor bezel, and an overall fantastic design. Just wished they added more video inputs than just the VGA and the DVI. Otherwise, I would have rated it a 10

"Perfect, Just What I Wanted" on by zepharis

Pros: Huge screen, colors great, nice appearance

Cons: None I am aware of

Summary: I wanted a larger screen monitor because I view my computer screen from my recliner. This was the answer, now I can read the small print from where I am seated. It was an easy set up and I am completey happy. I had a Viewsonic 18" before that, still going strong and I will keep as a backup. There is a very big difference in size though and I am glad I bought this.
