  • "I'll never work in landscape again..."
    on

Summary I have had my ViewSonic for over one year now. It has worked flawlessly, despite being bombarded daily with salt air from the ocean only 200 feet away. It has no dead pixels. The colors are rich, the picture sharp, the geometries perfect. And... The reason I got this ViewSonic, more than any other, is that it pivots. Nearly everything I do is better in portrait mode: view the Web, write a computer program, compose a letter, look at a person's portrait. I rarely ever use landscape anymore, except for viewing certain landscape photos or for certain wide spreadsheets. After you've read the N.Y. Times on the Web in portrait, after you've seen your MS Word document in full, real size, after you've been able to view 100 lines of computer code without scrolling, you won't want to go back. Just a note: I use my pivoting software with Windows 2000. The version that come on the CD with the monitor did not work with Windows 2000. I had to download a compatible update from the Website of the company that publishes the software. (That was over a year ago; the CD that comes with the monitor may be updated now.)

  • "Beautiful monitor"
    on

Summary Just got mine ... and I'm simply floored by the sheer beauty of the display. It's clear, sharp and the colors are vibrant and lively. MUCH better than any other TFT I've seen. To give this only a 7 is ... unthinkable. I replaced a 19" CRT with this display and I'm not missing it at all!!!! Lack of speakers and USB? Not a prob. The speakers that are built into monitors are cheap anyway and I've got a powered USB hub ... don't know why this monitor got knocked for that!

  • "Very nice but not really for a gamer"
    on

Summary I have mine one day now :) I must say I love it... zero dead pixels or subpixels, sharp text and almost no ghosting when scrolling the text. When gaming this turns to be different, I bought this monitor because it had a 25ms response time, but in havy gaming you will have to get used to some 'ghosting'! Watching movies on the other hand works fine :) Don't worry about the analog inputs... the auto sync works fine (but ofcourse, a digital input would have been nice for the price I payed (€1300 incl. 21% VAT)). The pivot function is a very nice feature that I'm planning to use more often :) My conclusion: - If you're not a gamer, this monitor certainly is good and should be high on your list. - If you are a gamer, watch around, there are some new models (with improved techology) that could be better fit for your needs. And don't forget, it's not because I have some problems with the ghosting on this screen, that you should have them to... go to a store and watch the screen in action (that's what I should have done before ordering it :( )!! But after all I'm happy I have it. I think I'll get used to the bluring in games :) PS: sorry for my bad English ;)

  • "Dead pixles..."
    on

Summary I bought two...and each one had a dead pixle that stayed Red. Very annoying when trying to watch a movie.

  • "At first a sceptic Now a believer"
    on

Summary Whoever thinks this monitor is a 7 out of 10 must have cheap glasses. I could not be happier with its peformance.
