"All you could ask for"
Pros: Great color out of box. Good contrast/brightness ratio. Excellent text. Good for gaming. Looks sexy.
Cons: Average video quality. No internal scaling
Summary: I'm a 60% gamer, 40% graphic designer these days and it was time to upgrade from the old 17" crt. I tried a couple other LCD's but couldn't find one that could handle both worlds.
The 2025 handles colors and gradients quite well and holds it's own for the web work I do. It's brightness produces nice whites and text is very sharp. For the average user surfing the net or using word processing programs etc. this monitor will really impress you.
Widescreen is where it is at. I find the eyes work better side to side than vertical. Nothing like having to browser windows open side by side to compare things.
Gaming is a treat. The 8ms response time handles FPS games pretty damn well. I've had prior 16ms lcd's and thsoe made me sick from motion blur by the end of a night of gaming.
As for video playback I've seen better and yes it's one area this lcd could do better on, but hey what really do you need. If I'm gonna watch a DVD I'll pop it into the home theater.
For the money you can't beat this monitor. Make sure you shop for it on sale, seems to be on somewhere different each week.
