"One of the best for sharp text!" on by raherrin
Pros: Sharp text, easy to use menu, great price
Cons: can not adjust height of screen
Summary: If you use your computer primarily for working on text documents and reading text on the web, this is one of the best monitors on the market. I have used, purchased, and looked at numerous LCD monitors, and haven't found any that display text as sharp as this one. AND the price is very attractive; $240 after rebate.
I understand that other monitors may have higher contrast, or better video performance watching DVD's or while gaming. However, since I watch DVD's on my HDTV and my kids game on a game console like Xbox or Playstation, this is not a big factor for me.
So if your priority is sharp text that is easy on your eyes over long sessions in front of the screen, this Viewsonic model is a great choice. By the way, the newer model of viewsonic that I think replaces this one is not as sharp with text. Best advise for buying monitor is to check it out with your own eyes in the store; much like a TV, what "looks best" is very subjective. -
"One year max" on by pete707
Pros: Good price and "looks" to be quality.
Cons: does not last long
Summary: I have an office with lots of these monitors. I have not had a any Viewsonic last longer then one year. That means if I have 24 monitors I am replacing 2 a month. Its time for me to find a better brand.

"Excellent Color, Resolution" on by cdq109
Pros: Color, Resolution, Price
Cons: ????? Cant think of any
Summary: Bought this monitor at Fry's 3 months ago for $300. I am still really impressed with it. I'm not a "professional" gamer, but I tell you I can't complain about it's video quality in games. Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Doom3 come out excellent if you ask me. I'm really happy with mine. Great value for the dollar. Oh, and I am using the Analog cable too. Haven't got around to spend $50 on a stupid DVI cable. I can't believe the video quality could get any better than this just by going to DVI.

"Use the DVI input" on by northcreek
Pros: DVI and a Mac mini gives good color and image
Cons: VGA Image and Color is so so.
Summary: Buy a Male-Male DVI cable and hook up with
your Mac mini.

"Great Picture, User-Friendly" on
Pros: I purchased this monitor on sale, but would have purchased it even if it weren't on sale. Like another owner-reviewer said above, I don't know what's with CNet's reviewer. I love this monitor. It's clear, sharp, bright, colors look great and text is nic
Cons: I haven't found any yet
