In real-world performance, we didn't see any of the aforementioned color problems. Kill Bill Vol. 1 looked good with accurate colors and deep blacks. Blood splatters, in particular, had a deep red look to them and other lighter colors like The Bride's yellow jumpsuit were full and vibrant. The monitor includes a Dynamic Contrast Ratio option--which is supposed to dynamically lower or increase the backlight radiance depending on if there is a dark or light image on the screen--but when we turned it on, we didn't notice a difference in the screen brightness or contrast going from dark to light scenes.
World of Warcraft was clear and sharp, although its colors were slightly muted compared with the ViewSonic's and the Lenovo's. We found that the best settings for viewing games and movies on the display were the 6,500K color temperature, Dynamic contrast: off, Contrast: 45, Brightness: 54 (more or less brightness depending on how much your eyes can take). As for Sharpness, we didn't notice a difference in quality when changing this attribute.
The left and right viewing angles were impressive. Westinghouse claims a viewing angle of 170 degrees and, sure enough, not until our viewing angle was nearly parallel with the screen did we see a notable drop in image detail. A lower viewing angle was a different story. When we viewed from a couple inches lower than the optimal viewing angle--one quarter of the screen distance from the top--screen detail dropped immediately.
The built-in speakers are located on the back. While they sounded decent, the volume is too low. Even when we had it set to its highest, it was hard to hear dialogue in movies.

Service and support
Although we had no problem finding the product page for the L1916HW on Westinghouse's Web site, there were neither drivers nor a downloadable manual to be found.
Westinghouse provides the monitor with a one-year warranty that covers the backlight. Toll-free customer service is available over the phone Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. PT. E-mail support is provided as well.
