"Short-lived, poor service" on by pinguino
Pros: Nice initial display
Cons: Not durable; no service available outside the U.S.; speakers are awful
Summary: After CNET gave this monitor a high rating, I bought it thinking I would get many years of enjoyment. What a mistake. The first thing you should know is that this monitor is NOT built to last. After two years, it suddenly developed horizontal streaks and shadows. I tried everything to fix it myself, to no avail. Naturally, the warranty is expired. I contacted Sceptre tech support; their response was: "It might be the power inverters or the display panel itself." How very helpful. I had to write back and ask how to get it fixed; they then informed me that it cannot be repaired outside the U.S. The second thing you should know is that the speakers on the monitor are cheap and tinny. I used separate speakers. I would not recommend this piece of garbage to anyone.

"Horrible product and even worse customer service!" on by DFTharp
Pros: There are no pros for this screen
Cons: Horrible product that does not last
Summary: This is a horrible product. I have had nothing but problems with it since purchased. First the screen had broken pixels. I sent it in and then it was returned. Then I didn't have a remote and had to wait 7 months for it to arrive from China. I opened the box (after it was sent in), turned it on and the screen had another problem. I sent it back and wonderful sceptre refuses to take it back saying it is out of warranty. WHAT A HORRIBLE PRODUCT AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Please, save yourself a lot of money and alot of time. Stay away from Sceptre!!!

"Awesome until it died after 16 months" on
Pros: Great for DVD and TV playback, many inputs, and a remote control
Cons: slightly clunky design, bad user interface, unusual button layout for remote, burned out in approximately 14 months- just after the warranty expired.

"Works great to watch TV & Movies in my bedroom." on
Pros: Nice clear viewing of TV, DVD and videotapes, and it looks good on my dresser.
Cons: I would prefer to have more controls on the unit, rather than needing to use the remote all the time.
