Doom is definitely the original first person shooter

Pros: Great game, runs on many a system, challenging

Cons: Sometimes too challenging, music is an ear-ache, sprites everywhere...

Review: Like I said, Doom is definitely the original First Person shooter, and I can just see myself now on an old DOS machine bringing down the bad-guys...

...However times have moved on and I now own this product for the GBA. For the GBA it suits, as there are relatively blocky graphics and Sprite animation. If it can run on a handheld machine in pretty much the same amount of splendour as a full blown PC 12 years ago, it just goes to show how much tech has boomed.

The only caveat from me is that while I usually like the ambient music that is present in games like this (say, Quake, Quake II, Duke Nukem 3D), the music in Doom is nothing ambient. Often louder than the action itself, it becomes an earsore after a while, and, coupled with the monotony of the level difficulty (once you get past the first few, you'll regret it) I naturally had to rate this product a 6
