"Great Macro lens and nice for portraits too!"4.5 starson by ramiske
Pros: Incredible depth of field, super sharp, nice in low light
Cons: Usually need a tripod for really close macro shots
Summary: I use this lens for a lot of floral photography, and I almost always use a tripod and manual focus to get the sharpest shots at the closest focusing range. The f2.8 provides a very nice shallow DOF.
As a bonus, it also is great for portraits with a nice blurry background, and you don't have to get right in the subject's face to get a close up shot.
I've had it 2 years with no problems at all.
