Pricier than the f1.8, but worth it, especially if you plan to use it a lot

I do portrait photography and I only use natural lighting. So the f1.4 aperture of this lens is invaluable in low light. I have other lenses that cover the 50mm range, but none of them come close to being as sharp. This lens rarely leaves my camera--I have used the heck out of it (over 15000 exposures) and it keeps going. I use it on my Dig Rebel and the 30D.
