Pros 1.High Picture quality. 2.Built like tank, 3.Weather sealed, 4. IS..!
Cons 1. Weight.. 2. High Price
Summary I am 48 yrs old.. used to 70-200mm F/4 L USM and happy with the lens untill I try the F/2.8 IS. this lens is for those who is looking for the best and crisp detail/sharpness.
the big different is in small detail such as human hair, bird's feather etc.
The Image stabiliser is really help.. I can managed to get reasonable sharp pictures at 200mm at average room lightning condition which will be blurred without IS [ Aged problem...] But The price and weight is on the high side.
IF you looking for crisp detail/sharpness and nice/smooth Bokeh( blurr BG ). this lens is just right for you. But if you are looking for cheaper, lighter and don't ask for the best and crisp detail/sharpness the 70-200 F/4 will be your choice. I am keeping both..

Pros versatile, sharp, easy
Cons heavy, use with atleast and monopod
Summary My husband and I love this lens. We bought one and fought over it so much that we had to buy another one. This is anamazingly easy to use lens with all the bells and whistles. Because of the f/2.8 it is great for lowlight and the telephoto range is very versatile. The autofocus works almost all of the time without jitter. The quality and crispness of the images is excellent. The only downside is that it is too heavy to use without at least a monopod. The tripod mounting ring works very smoothly. If you can only buy one lens and you can afford this one, this is it.
Pros Lightning Quick IS, Sharp, IS works better than advertised, Gorgeous Boke
Cons Expensive but worth it, Heavy but the results justify it
Summary SHARP SHARP SHARP. Beautiful color, contrast, and detail. The AF is so fast it boggles the mind. The IS allows handheld 1/8second exposures at 200mm and in lowlight combined with the IS is a godsend. I can't say enough about this lens.
Pros Great depth, Great Quality, Fast, Silent, Image Stabilization
Cons Expensive, Heavy
Summary I am a photography enthusiast/amateur. I do not have any professional experience. But, I have about a 1 1/2 years use of this lens. This is a fantastic lens. I do use it a lot less than my 24-70 USM 2.8L. However, I like this one a lot more. I use this lens when doing sports photography. The IS feature is phenomenal. The "L" glass produces sharp clear pictures. The only downside is the price. $1550-$2000 is a lot to shell out, but it is well worth it.
Pros fast, multi-mode IS, sharp as a tack.
Cons pricey, and you won't sneak up on anyone with it.
