No lens hood included, lens cover is rather easy to fall offSummary: Overall I believe this lens provides a lot of features for it's cost. The image stabilization is very good and the overall picture quality is excellent.
Although just like several other Canon lenses, the kit does not provide a lens hood.
I also found that the lens cover is quite small and sloppy. The lens can be quite easily taken off the lens which exposes the lens to scratches.
I highly recommend this kit lens for a beginner photography (such as me) in DSLR photography.
