"Excellent budget telephoto lens" on by plogue87
Pros: Lightweight, fast autofocus.
Cons: Made of plastic, sharpness drops noticeably at 250mm
Summary: I've been using this lens for a short time and have found it to be an nice compliment to the standard lens kit on my Canon Xsi (EOS 450D). I typically do a lot of landscape photography, however when I want to get a shot of some distant features this lens allows me to capture some of the details that the 18-55mm lens can't capture. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget (especially college students like me), and those who are just delving into dSLR photography. This lens can also be dificult to purchase from physical stores (had to order from an online store).

"Good for a family camera or hobbyist." on by MEPhotog
Pros: Price, light, decent in-a-pinch lense
Cons: Sharpness and color dissipate after 100mm, slow focus
Summary: Great value for a lense for someone looking to keep photo records of fun family events/outings or someone who does photography as a hobby. Not so great for pro & day-to-day use. Image quality is definitely lacking once you get beyond 100mm with focus, sharpness, and color. Needed a longer lense in a pinch, realized quickly that I can't use this for work other than as a back up.

"Excellent Len" on by RuggyRat
Pros: So far it has worked very well for me especially without having to change lens between close up and long range. This works great for everyday use.
Cons: none so far
Summary: Excellent len photography.
