"Oh my computer is actually SLOWER!"
Pros: Nothing. Simply the defunct Mac OS X repackaged in a new cute box with picture of another cat on it.
Cons: This is product, like its predecessor is garbage.
Summary: I was unfortunate enough to have to use a defunct Apple Mac for the last couple of weeks. Before giving it to me, my friend upgraded it to the latest (crappy) Mac OS X which was the version right before "SNOW LEOPARD" (?)
The damn thing is SLOW as mollasess. I just cannot grasp how a computer that is running on an INTEL CORE 2 DUO, which is a very fast CPU, can be so sluggish! I mean it takes 30 seconds to switch from one application to another, if heaven forbid, I decide to use something as "advanced" as multitasking on it. Even switching from one window to another window in the SAME application takes at least 10 seconds! I mean what is wrong with these people??
I have a HP Pavillion Windows Vista laptop with the same CPU as the Mac on it and it runs like a rocket in spite of the fact that Vista is supposed to be "slow" in comparison to Windows XP.
We went ahead and upgraded (again) to the "Snow Leopard" version and I could swear it's even SLOWER now!
I think people should really boycott this stupid company (Apple) and let evolution put it out of its misery...obviously they do not have any engineers to help them out besides the INTEL engineers that helped them switch from PowerPC to Intel, 6 years ago.
PS:
After doing the Mac OS X Upgrade, we spent the next 2 hours downloading bug fixes from Apple! And it still has serious problems, every once in a while the menu bar from an application I had previously quit sticks around and prevents me from using the computer, then a whole bunch of nonsensical error Dialog boxes pop up...waiting 5 minutes usually clears the menubar problem, but WOW!

This "review" is absolute BS. you have not used any modern mac. No modern computer takes 30 seconds to switch windows, not even a 10 year old windows machine running win 98. You also reviewed it the day before it was out, so i fail to see how you could get updates to an operating system that wasnt out yet. You also seem to have little experience with mac os with the comment "every once in a while the menu bar from an application I had previously quit sticks around and prevents me from using the computer" On a mac you dont close an application by closing the window, you have to close it in the dock or menu bar. Also apple switched from powerpc to intel in 2006, 3 years ago, not 6. Its obvious you are a troll. DONT REVIEW PRODUCTS YOU HAVENT USED

I like this... it really illustrates the extent that many PC users will go to try and get people to use their crappy PC's.... good for a laugh but not anything more that a PC fantasy... BOINK.. that was be smacking you on the puppy....hehehehehe

****!!! You are nothing but a Windows fanboy who can't even make a good review.

It took you two hours to download bug fixes from Apple? For Snow Leopard??? Have they even released a software update for that yet?
-
Utter nonsense I'm afraid. This is not a review but a work of fiction & I'm sad to see it still here.

This review is so obviously written by someone who has no experience with Apple's Mac OS X operating system. Provides no specifics about why he considers this OS slow. Which applications did you try out, buddy, to claim that it is slow? Just a random rant about slow, slow, slow does not cut it.
Please take this review off this site. It is inflammatory and unhelpful. -
I have never seen such BS before NO computer that is in working order and built within the past several years takes 10 seconds to switch windows. And if your computer was running an intel core 2 duo processor please be so kind as to let us know what computer and year you are running. I am running a macbook pro that I bought back when tiger was around and have installed the developer build on it and have found no slowness on the contrary its faster then leopard and faster even then windows 7. (which btw is a very large improvement over vista)
Please stop making unsubstantiated and ignorant remarks on these sites your bias is obvious -
It is quite obvious that your post is completely BS. First and foremost, Snow Leopard is not even out until tomorrow, so you either are fantasying this entire post or you are using a developers copy. Second, no Mac Core 2 Duo has EVER taken 10 seconds to switch from one window to another unless there is some type of a drive problem. You are obviously ignorant in technology and probably haven't the slightest idea of the difference between ROM and RAM, so do us all a favor and go play with your Xbox and leave the posts to the grown ups.
