Pros: Promises to be a decent Operating system.
Cons: Basically a $200 service pack.
Summary: Windows XP gives you updates for free in so-called "Service Packs" every year or so. The updates include major fixes to the system, as well as some new features. With Mac OSX, you have to dig deep into your wallet for new features and you only get your basic patch and security updates if you don't. I have two computers; a Dell laptop running Windows XP and an iMac running OSX tiger. On the Dell, I get free updates (Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2 and soon Service pack 3). On the Mac, I just had to pay $249 simply to get enhanced performance (and it's not like I went from OS 9 to OSX... just got some new features!). I think that if you are buying a new computer, OSX leopard will be a good Operating system. But it will probably be a waste of money to update (unless you're still running OS 8 or 9).
