"Great mouse for my modest gaming needs."
Pros: Nice feel, fits well. The weight system and adjustable resolution are neat features. Slippery feet make for very smooth motion. The first one was affordable. Very good quality, I've used mine for years and it works perfectly.
Cons: The cord is too short for sure, I had to use an extender. The thumb button is 4mm too far back and the 3rd button really is too soft. They are now too expensive at $40-60.
Summary: This is the best mouse I've used, but I'm not a cutting edge gamer. I'd like to try the nice new mice from Logitech, but there's only so much money and time to burn. It is a joy to use with its smoothness and solid feel. The heavy weight is usually in it, but I'm 52 and not as quick as the kids.
IMO, 800 DPI is a bit loose and 1600DPI is too twitchy, I want 1000-1100.
Didn't have a lick of trouble with functions or double clicking or software farts. Probably because I use XP with no service packs, updates, patches, etc. Five years of daily use on this XP load and never a burp or error code, as fast as day 1, the trick is SCSI and to NEVER let your gamer get on the filthy Internet.
I paid $20 for my Fatal1ty 1010, but a replacement is at least $40. Like the Toyota T100 pickup and the Honda VF4 Magna, the best creations can actually gain value after they're discontinued.
If you're looking for a good gaming mouse for mortals this is an excellent choice if you can find a new one for ~$20 or so.
