Pros The momentum of the scroll wheel is great. I hold mice by thumb and little finger and the G9x works really well like this. To be able to switch the scrollwheel from clicking to smooth with a button press is great!
Cons The force required to depress the scrollwheel as the middle button is enormous. I'm a rock climber, and my middle finger aches after a few minutes use of the middle button. This seriously impairs the usability of the mouse.
Summary An almost perfect mouse, ruined by an overly stiff middle button/scroll wheel. If the middle button/scroll wheel were better (softer), this mouse would get a 5 star rating (perfect).
Pros More than enough resolution at 5700 dpi. Glides accross my 1200 dpi mouse pad smoother than any mouse ive had. I like a heavy mouse so the weights that come with it are perfect. You cant beat $29.99 after the $30 rebate.
Cons If I had to pay retail for it I might not have got it. Could use a couple more buttons on top for games.
Summary If you can get it for the price I paid, its the best mouse you can get even if your not a gamer. Very accurate and smooth. Its currently the best mouse made by Logitech so there is not any thinking to do, just buy it.
Pros Features up the wazoo; everything from user-customized profiles that can be saved in the mouse itself (great if you're moving it from one computer to another), the ability to change the LED colors on the sensitivity setting display, removable weights
Cons The form factor is odd; the mouse comes with two shells; one is a wide shell with a rough, no-slip surface, and the second is a little longer but flatter. Neither really suits me, as I don't have a place to rest the flesh of my palm.
Summary Logitech sells another shell for this mouse, which will make it feel more like an MX500-series (or G7, which is what I upgraded from- Logitech currently does not have a wireless gaming-grade mouse), and it's $19.99 from their website. I feel, at $100 US, that this more traditional shell should've come with the G9x. The custom weight system is nice; the unit comes with four 4-gram weights and four 7-gram weights, and it didn't take me long to figure out what combination I liked.
Insofar as performance is concerned, the mouse is lightning-fast, precise, and the sensitivity can be changed on the fly without much effort.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this little rodent, though- as aforementioned- I resent having to pay twenty bucks for a rubber shell that will make this thing feel more like the Logitech mice we all know and love... all of the pro reviews online hail this mouse as one of the best money can buy (Maximum PC even awarded the G9x their coveted "Kick Ass" award, giving this unit a 10 out of 10).
Pros I have the G9x Laser mouse, not the gaming one, and is exactly the same. The Weights are great and the DPi sensitivity buttons are handy. Comes with inter-changeable cases, one for grip and one for comfort, and has high DPi.
Cons I couldn't think of anything that's wrong with it until I used the setpoint software. It is difficult to change the buttons on the side/top and is hard to set macros. Also the braided cord frayed easily and came off the rubber part of the cord.
Summary For the price of $68 (AU) it was definitely far better value than Razer mouses with less DPi, less buttons and no weights. I'm always using and changing the cases/weights and they are very handy. You can change the color of the LED's easily and it looks great. would've preferred more leds like on the bottom of the back, as that would look great.
Pros The Mouse has a Great Feel and is exceedingly responsive, in many ways it's better than my MX1000. I just love the textured feel. I've found the perfect balance between weight and grip, with about half the weights fitted it's perfect.
Cons The only thing against this mouse is the price and in all fairness it's still pretty good value I reckon.
Summary I have been through quite a number of mice in my time, perhaps 8 or 9, all but a couple from Logitech. I made the mistake about a year ago of buying a Microsoft gaming mouse. Doh.
This is quite simply superb, I would recommend it too any gamer who is serious about playing to the best of their ability.
